LED Light therapy - Photo bio-stimulation

What is PhotoBiostimulation?

PhotoBiostimulation refers to the use of light to stimulate a biological reaction.

Modern devices do this using LED's (Light Emitting Diodes) to produce light of the required wavelength to acheive the selected result. .

It is increasingly used in the aesthetic field to complement other technologies and to improve numerous blemishes, using the different properties of the various wavelengths, but is also effective in its own right as a stand-alone treatment.

What is an LED?

An LED (Light Emitting Diode) emits low doses of visible or non-visible light energy in intermittent or continuous mode.

The light is powered by an electric circuit, the fundamental component of which is the semiconductor. It is this semi-conductor that determines and generates the wavelength of the light and the intensity of the light emitted by the device.

The semiconductor is generally a combination of elements such as aluminium, silicon, indium, phosphorus, arsenic and gallium.

The wavelengths and the colour of the light generated are:

  • Light Colour: blue        Wavelength: 430 nanometres
  • Light Colour: yellow     Wavelength: 590 nanometres
  • Light Colour: red         Wavelength: 630 - 635 nanometres
  • Light Colour: infrared   Wavelength: 830 nanometres

What can Led do?

The use of LED's are becoming more widespread in aesthetics and are often used in conjunction with other technologies to improve results and offer different treatment regimes.

LED’s stimulate the body’s own responses.

  Photo Bio-Stimulation with Infra-Red light

The properties of Infra-Red LED can help with the following conditions and treatments

  • Increased vascularisation
  • deep thermal increase
  • increased dermal oxygenation
  • Stimulation of the synthesis of new collagen
  • Improvement in skin elasticity.

   Photo Bio-Stimulation with Red light

The properties of Red LED can help with the following conditions and treatments

  • Photo-Rejuvenation mild and medium
  • Skin hydration
  • Stimulation of the synthesis of new collagen
  • Improvement in skin elasticity.

    Photo Bio-Stimulation with Yellow light

The properties of yellow LED can help with the following conditions and treatments

  • Wrinkles Reduction
  • Stimulation of the lymphatic and blood circulation.
  • Significant reduction of the dermis
  • Micro-circulation Reactivation
  • Facilitation of the reduction of wrinkles around the eyes
  • Improvement in skin texture.

    Photo Bio-Stimulation with Blue light

The properties of Blue LED can help with the following conditions and treatments

  • Reduction of Imperfections from Post Acne
  • Anti-bacterial effects
  • Purification skin
  • Promoting the synthesis of neo-collagen

General advantages of Photo Bio-Stimulation

  • Very low risk of side effects
  • No seasonal limitation
  • Immediate Return to everyday activities
  • Possible application on all skin types.

What makes a good Photo Bio-Stimulation machine?

Photo stimulation machines are often part of a machine that already performs other functions thought they can be bought on their own. For an example of such a combination system, see the Elits Miniecosmo System for Body and Beauty.

Ask your supplier if their equipment offers photo bio-stimulation and if they don’t, why not?

Alternatively, systems are available with a primary LED function - For instance the OPERA LED Facemask. This has the added value of a Galvanic current treatment option, but is primarily an LED facemask, emitting InfraRed light with an option of Blue, Red or both.

Highly effective, loved by celebrities the world over and well worth a look - See OPERA LED Mask
